WEST COAST WILDFIRES — HOW TO HELP

West Coast Wildfires – How to Help

9/20/2020 – The fires on the US west coast are breaking records in many tragic ways. It is an incredibly sad time for the communities, forests and wildlife directly impacted and for millions more impacted by poor air quality. For more than five years, RBar has supplied wild land firefighters with our products to fuel them while they fight these major forest fires. But this year is different. The sheer scale and quantity of the fires has us asking what else can be done.

Earlier this year RBar partnered with One Tree Planted to help with the reforestation effort after wildfires, donating a tree for every box of bars sold on rbarenergy.com. This effort is one that RBar is particularly proud to sponsor. It continues to be a great way to make an impact when planting can be done, which generally only occurs twice per year. Next month Brian, RBar Founder, will help to plant trees with One Tree Planted through one of their volunteer efforts. Your participation is automatic every time you purchase an RBar product, and we thank you for your patronage and this effort.

And yet, there are still so many more ways to help the people and planet that can be filled right now. So, we decided to compile a short list of some of the ways you can help the west coast recover a little quicker. Here is that list:

  • World Central Kitchen- Donate via the World Central Kitchen Website to provide chef made meals to disaster areas including California. World Central Kitchen’s website states that “ By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of food trucks or emergency kitchens, WCK provides freshly made, nutrition meals to survivors of disasters quickly and effectively”
  • One Tree Planted - Donate to One Tree Planted and each dollar plants a tree. You can specify which region you would like to have your trees planted. One Tree Planted is also creating a docuseries titled “The State of California”, available on YouTube.
  • American Red Cross - Donate, give blood or volunteer through the Red Cross Website. An easy way to donate money is to text “WILDFIRES” to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
  • GoFundMe hub -GoFundMe has launched a specific Wildfire Relief Fund and created a centralized hub for fundraisers that have been verified. The hub offers a significant variety of causes that highlight specific niches and individuals that you can directly help.
